How does Thread Club work?
It is an offer that is exclusively available through Australian & New Zealand patchwork shops.
Each shop collaborates with us to select a range of threads for their particular thread club and we at Always Quilting, that is Heather, Judy, Jill & Jenny, organise the threads and supply them to the shop each month in time for them to be collected by club members (or posted out if you are a mail order member).
Thread clubs can consist of 72 mini spools of Cotton Mako’ supplied at 6 spools per month for 12 months or it could be 22 standard spools of Cotton mako’, Lana wool blend or Aurilux supplied at 2 spools per month for 11 months.

Which ever format is selected, a neat plastic box is supplied with the thread in the first month and by the end of the program this box is full of thread.
The Piecing Thread Club, 22 spools of 1000 metre Cotton Mako' Ne 40
A club could consist of Cotton Mako’ Ne 50 for needle turn applique, Ne 40 for piecing, Ne 28 for hand quilting, Ne 12 for stitchery or a mix of thread weights for versatility. The club could have an emphasis on a colourway, or be a wide variety of colours. We now have 252 colours from which to make the selection.

So the first stop on your search will be your local shop.
If they can’t help you then you are welcome to contact us & we will tell you which shops are currently running clubs.
However if you would really like to obtain your threads from your local shop suggest that THEY contact us to find out how easy it is to join in the fun. They can start a club program with ONE member and WE do all the work packing the threads ready to be handed out to you on club day.

Unfortunately, as yet, there isn’t an outlet for Aurifil anywhere on the South Island. So far we only have two stockists in New Zealand and both are on the North Island, although Milton from Wright Fabrics, in Morrinsville (Tel: 07 889 7618), does travel to events on the South Island. The other shop is The Country Yard at Whangarei. (Tel: 09 4346 748)
However, I did meet a retailer from your area at the Wholesale trade fair, held in Melbourne in November so I suggest that you make a point of asking for Aurifil in your local shops. It help the retailers to assess the potential market if they receive inquiries for an item.
In the meantime, you are most welcome to purchase directly from me by shopping online.

Many New Zealanders are buying directly from me, and they tell me that their parcels arrive in a timely manner. You will find the colour range on the website and all you need to do is click on the colour that interests you, to link to the shopping cart page that will show you the colour in greater detail. I’ve sent you the link for the Cotton range but you will find that the links to the other thread types work in the same manner.

I live in Lakeland, Fl and want to know if there is a distributor close to me. I have ordered thread and really like it and would like to be able to run to the store and get what I need.

I’ve just checked the Aurifil website listing and it doesn’t look as if there is a store nearby to Lakeland, but I don’t know when the list was last updated.

I always recommend that people ask for Aurifil at their local store so that the owner realises that there will be a market for the thread if she adds it to the store product range.

Hello, I live in Fulton, NY and just found your thread a few weeks ago. My local shop has told me that she is having a difficult time getting the thread into her shop. Colors are limited. How do I sign up for a Thread Club.
Also is the 50/2 Aurifil alright to use in garment making / mending.

Hi Loretta, Thank you for your inquiry regarding our thread club. This is a club program that we offer to local patchwork shops in Australia so unfortunately we are unable to help you directly. I see that you have commented that your local patchwork shop only has a limited range of colours, however if you contact the Aurifil USA consumer help desk you may find a more suitable supplier.
