Applique … a peculiar passion

I find that even though it is one of my favourite things, these days I have less time to spend piecing patchwork on  my sewing machine so I am becoming more interested in applique. I am mostly a self taught appliquer (is there such a word) so I am constantly searching  for  information about how to get best results.

So I was very pleased to find a great list of references for applique on Judy Butcher’s blog :

I’ve tried blanket stitch applique by hand, using both the Cotton Mako’ N e 12 & Ne 28.

Blanket stitch with Cotton Mako’ Ne 12 has a nice strong appearance

I’ve also tried several different methods of needle turned applique with the Cotton Mako’ Ne 50
